A Brookburn Primary School blog
Calling all of 5JW’s boys! Its time to find a new class representative. Don’t forget that you need to prepare your speech for Wednesday 24th Feb. Your speech needs to explain why you want to be our councillor, what you will try to achieve as our councillor and what strengths you have that will help you in the role. Good luck

As we discussed, here is a post for you to comment on how your are spending your half term holiday. Enjoy!

What 5jw have been up to this week,
This week has been a sad week because Michael is leaving on Friday but we are having a party to say goodbye.Today for the last time Michael has had his last school council meeting with our class. Our school council is Amelia and Michael. Now wer’e looking for another boy councillor.
We’ve been planning for a recount about Edmund Hillary climbing up Mount Everest with Tenzing Norway. Today we have to start writing the real thing.( i wonder what yours is like?)+
Some reading buddies from Chorlton High came in to our class, to show us what books they like to read and if we might like to read them as well as books we also read now. When we have finished reading the book (one hunderd mph dog) we are hopefully going to meet the author (Jeremy Strong) at the blue box theatre( Chorlton high school) We would love to no who your favourite Author is ?
Last week all yr5 took part in auditions for dance on Tuesday and drama on the Wednesday . We all found out who got though to dance and drama the majority of both classes got in everyone is excited.
Thats all for now.
Bye. Amelia, Beth, Johnny and Lauren
With valentines day looming, we would love to know what you think love is.
Here are some examples:
Noelle age 7: – ‘Love is when you tell a guy that you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.’
Rebecca aged 8 - ‘When my grandma got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather did it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthiritus too. That’s love.’
Elaine aged 5 – ‘Love is when Mummy sees Daddy sweaty and smelly and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.’
Karen aged 7 – ‘When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.’
5JW would love to hear from their friends and family members who live in different locations around the world! Please say hi by leaving us a comment on this post! Thanks! 5JW x
As you can see, I have managed to add a world map onto our blog. However, this is not just any world map, this is an extremely clever world map! It is able to tell us where all of the people who visit our blog are from! Just take a look at red dots – they represent where our visitors live.
I know that lots of you are lucky enough to have family and friends who live in different locations around the world. Over the holidays, try and get in touch with family and friends that live in different places and ask them to visit our site. It would be great if they could say hi to us on the post called ‘FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF 5JW’!
Happy holidays!!

Nice to hear from you Abbie. It has got us thinking; how are you all getting on at your new schools? Who are your new friends? What are the teachers like? We have found out who is taking part in the dance and drama. We are looking forward to seeing Abbie there!
It would be lovely if you could get in touch with us by commenting on this post!
